To become tenacious, you also need to remember Whose you are.
One of the more miraculous truths about God remains this: He chooses us in spite of who we are and what we’ve done, and when we let Him He can miraculously bring good out of the bad moments in our lives.
Romans 8:28
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
There’s that word again: “called.” You and I have been called by God – invited by God to follow Him, to experience life and freedom, to become fruitful, to be transformed and to transform others.
When we say “yes” to our calling – when we say “yes” to following Christ we become His. We become part of His family – one of the chosen.
For example, in Genesis 12:1-3 God chose Abraham to become a great nation and through Him all nations would be blessed. This is important. By choosing one person, God was choosing all of us.
Genesis 12:2-3
“I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you… and you will be a blessing… and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
Those who follow Him become His Church also known as the Bride of Christ. To help us understand God’s love for us, Jesus is referred to as the Groom and those who follow Him are referred to as the Bride of Christ.
This wedding analogy works best if we have ever witnessed or experienced a healthy marriage. If you have ever seen or experienced this kind of pure and unconditional love, you are catching a glimpse of God’s love for us.
Consider these passages:
Ephesians 5:25
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”
Song of Solomon 6:3
“I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine….”

There’s great freedom when we know we belong to God. No matter what, He’s never going to let us go.
God’s message for us can be found in Deuteronomy 31:6:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
When things get tough, you may not know what to do, but you can know the One who does. You can trust Him. You can trust that somehow what was intended for evil, He can work so miraculously that good can come out of the darkest moments.
We do not know why, but we know the One who does. We can trust Him.
As a result, we can choose Hope even when we don't feel like it.
